Top Ten Thursdays: Favorite Actresses

You know the drill.  Last Thursday saw my ten favorite actors.  Today, it's actresses.  Both lists are fairly plastic.  In just the past week, I've thought of two oversights in my Best Actor list, but such is blogging.

10. Keira Knightley. Best performances: Atonement, A Dangerous Method, London Boulevard, Last Night

9. Sigourney Weaver. Best performances: Galaxy Quest, Alien, Aliens, Ghostbusters (what can I say; I'm a fan of sci-fi).

8. Diane Keaton. Best performances: The First Wives Club, Love and Death, The Godfather, Annie Hall

7. Vera Clouzot. Best performances: The Wages of Fear, Diabolique (she was only in three films before she died of a heart attack at age 46)

6. Ann Dvorak. Best performance: Scarface (1932) (it's the only film of hers I've actually seen, but boy is she amazing in it).

5. Jennifer Connelly. Best performances: Creation, Hulk, Little Children, A Beautiful Mind

4. Julianne Moore. Best performances: The Hours, Magnolia, Blindness, Boogie Nights, Evolution

3. Kate Winslet (God, I'm such a popularist). Best performances: Little Children, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

2. Eva Green.  Best performances: Casino Royale, Cracks, Kingdom of Heaven, probably Womb

1. Barbara Stanwyck. Best performances: Ball of Fire, The Lady Eve, The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, Double Indemnity
